An extraordinary season of studies
dedicated to instruments of the Cremonese school between 1730 and the end of the 1800s

On the occasion of the Triennial programme “Stradivarius ... and beyond” 2008-2010, dedicated to the instruments of the Cremonese school between 1730 and the end of the 1800s, the Stradivarius Foundation is inaugurating an important season of studies.
It has therefore decided to involve major international experts, correlating their different skills, and to use new research strategies, never before applied to violin making, in order to acquire data on historical masterpieces. The aim is to develop the most complete corpus of technical-scientific information on the history of the construction technologies of Cremonese violins.
