OTHER PRIZES

The “Simone Fernando Sacconi” prize, consisting of a gold medal offered by the Comune di Cremona, to the maker under 30 years of age on 31/12/2006, who according to the objective and final decision of the jury, is determined most worthy of merit is assigned to MARCIN KRUPA (POLAND).

The prize offered by the Administration of the Province of Cremona to the contestant who has presented the instrument with the best formal characteristics of construction is assigned to ULRICH HINSBERGER (GERMANY).

The “Walter Stauffer” prize, consisting of a gold medal offered by the Foundation of Musicology “Walter Stauffer”, to the contestant who has presented the instrument with the best tone is assigned to FRANCESCO TOTO (ITALY).

The prize dedicated to the memory of “Pierangelo Balzarini”, consisting of a gold medal, to the instrument made by a cremonese violinmaker that has reached the highest score for technical characteristics of construction in one of the four categories (violin viola cello and double bass) is assigned to SILVIO LEVAGGI (cello) ITALY.

The prize offered by the Japanese Association of Violinmakers consisting in a plate, to the instrument of the viola section that has reached the highest score for technical characteristics of construction is assigned to ALDO BRUGNINI & EVA-MARIA BECK (ITALY).

The “Union of Polish Artists Violinmakers” prize, consisting of a medal and one book “The Luthier’s Art in Poland 1954-2004”, to the violin with the best acoustic characteristics is assigned to MARCIN KRUPA (POLAND).
